I’m passionate about supporting women’s health and nourishing the foundation for future generations

Meet Karen

I bring over 15 years of clinical and academic research experience in the field of women’s nutrition before and during pregnancy to my clinical practice. I trained as a Registered Dietitian in my home country of Ireland before completing my PhD in medical sciences with a focus on nutrition in pregnancy. I relocated to Southern California in 2015 to pursue postdoctoral research, but always found myself being drawn back to patient care. I have practiced as a dietitian in an integrative health clinic since 2020, which has allowed me to develop my knowledge and skills in whole-person care for women’s health; applying food as medicine principles to treat underlying dis-ease while advocating for stress management, improved sleep and exercise habits, and cultivating self-compassion. With additional training as an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach, Specialist in Prenatal Nutrition, Mindful Eating Practitioner, and culinary medicine educator, I bring unique skills to my practice that support evidence-based, whole-person care. I strive to meet each person where they are and support meaningful, lasting change in their wellbeing.
